There are different possibilities to study in a university of applied sciences.

There are eight different fields of study:

  • Culture
  • Social Sciences, Business and Administration
  • Natural Sciences
  • Technology, Communications and Transport
  • Natural Resources and the Environment
  • Social Services, Health and Sports
  • Tourism, Catering and Domestic Services

Titles of degrees in the universities of applied sciences:

In Finnish, the entire title of a degree consists of the name of the field studied, the degree title itself and for the Bachelor's Degree the abbreviation AMK inside brackets and for the Master's Degree the defining word ylempi (=upper) and the abbreviation AMK inside brackets.
