Studying a degree in an university of applied sciences integrates theory and practice. There are eight (8) different fields of study. Studying is possible both in youth education as a full-time student or in adult education as a part-time student while working at the same time.

Vocational teacher education colleges are for teachers and persons wanting to become a teacher at a university of applied sciences, vocational school or a adult education center. There are five (5) vocational teacher education colleges and they are in Helsinki, Hämeenlinna, Tampere, Jyväskylä ja Oulu.
